Why Do Paper Pasting?

Pasting is a basic preschool skill. It’s a simple activity yet it has a lot of benefits to children, including:

  • fosters creativity
  • improves fine motor skills
  • develops patience and perseverance (because we all know that it can be difficult for children to take a piece of paper at a time and paste it on paper while making sure that it stays within the line)

Here is a quick guideline on how to teach the letter Cc:

  1. Drink a cup of cocoa with your child. Enjoy every sip. Say the words cup and cocoa while emphasizing on the beginning sound /c/, /c/, /c/.
  2. Show the flashcard for the letter Cc. Click here for free alphabet flashcards.
  3. Do the Cc is Cup paper pasting activity.
  4. Practice writing the letter Cc. Click here for free alphabet tracing worksheets.

Materials:

  • outline of a cup
  • glue
  • coloured paper cut-outs

Directions:

  • Paste the paper cut-outs on the cup outline. Try to stay within the lines.

Teacher’s Note:

Try to include gustatory activities (e.g. drinking cocoa, eating cupcakes) when teaching your child the letters.

This will make it easier for them to remember. Plus, it’s a yummy activity, too!
