Who is The Teaching Aunt?

Teaching Aunt Faces

Hello, and Welcome to The Teaching Aunt!

My name is Nessy, and I’m a passionate preschool teacher with over a decade of experience in early childhood education. But my favorite title? Aunt to my amazing nephew, Seb. His arrival sparked even more inspiration for this website, which has now been growing and evolving for 7 wonderful years!

When Seb was born, I couldn’t wait to dive into the world of fun art and craft activities with him. Watching him grow and learn has been one of the greatest joys of my life. And as a teacher, I’m eager to pass on my love for learning to him—and to all of you!

As a preschool teacher, I know firsthand how daunting it can be for children (and parents!) to transition from home to school. Whether it’s preparing for preschool or simply engaging little ones at home, many parents often wonder how to make that leap from toddlers to budding learners.

This is Why I Created The Teaching Aunt…

This blog is designed to empower parents and teachers with resources, activities, and tips that help children thrive in those early learning years. I’ve poured my experience and passion into this space, offering thousands of free printables (and still adding more!) that will guide children toward a smooth and enjoyable start to their education journey.

About teacher Nessy

What can you expect here?

Tons of fun and educational activities that will not only spark creativity but also help develop essential skills in a hands-on way. We’ll get messy with art projects, giggle through games, and build up confidence as we dive into reading and writing together. And the best part? Many of the materials we use can be found right in your home! So, don’t forget to keep those cleaning supplies handy. 😉

I also provide worksheets that support early literacy, math, and fine motor skills, because let’s face it—sooner or later, those little hands will need to grasp pencils and tackle some paper-based learning!

With over a decade of teaching experience, I’ve developed a knack for creating activities that balance fun with education. It’s my goal to bring that same balance into your homes and classrooms through The Teaching Aunt.

Thank you for stopping by, and I hope you’ll find inspiration and resources here to make learning joyful for your little ones.

Happy learning,

Teacher Nessy
