Numbers Flashcards

Free Numbers Flashcards

Teaching numbers to young children is one of my favorite parts of the preschool day. There’s something magical about seeing their faces light up when they recognize a number for the first time. To help you make that moment happen, I’m sharing a set of Free Numbers Flashcards that you can use at home or in the classroom.

Numbers Flashcards Free Printables

These printable flashcards are simple, clear, and made with early learners in mind. Whether you’re teaching numbers 1-10 or going all the way up to 100, you’ll find the perfect resource here. Let’s dive in!

Let’s Count from 1 to 10!

Free Numbers Flashcards 1-100

When I introduce numbers to my preschoolers, I always start small and gradually build up. However, some kids are ready for bigger numbers sooner than others. That’s why having Free Numbers Flashcards 1-100 on hand is so helpful.

I usually display these cards on our number wall. Every morning, we count together. At first, the kids might only recognize a few numbers. But after a few weeks of consistent practice, they start to spot patterns—like how all the tens end in a 0. It’s a proud moment every single time!

You can use these flashcards during circle time, number hunts, or quick review sessions. They’re also great for independent practice or simple matching games. And, you can also pair them with these cool math worksheets!

Numbers Flashcards 1-10

Before we get to 100, it’s important to make sure little ones are comfortable with the basics. The Numbers Flashcards 1-10 set is perfect for beginners.

I like to introduce these cards during our morning meetings. I’ll hold up a flashcard and ask, “What number is this?” If the class hesitates, I’ll give clues like, “It’s one more than 2!” Making it playful keeps the children engaged.

Sometimes, I set the cards around the room and let the kids find them. When they pick one up, they have to shout out the number. This scavenger hunt approach turns a simple activity into an exciting game.

Ten Frame Numbers Flashcards

Understanding quantity is just as important as recognizing numerals. That’s where Ten Frame Numbers Flashcards come in.

In my class, we use ten frames all the time. When I first introduce them, I show how filling up a ten frame with counters helps us “see” numbers instead of just counting them one by one. This hands-on visual makes a big difference, especially for kids who struggle with abstract concepts.

You can print these ten frame flashcards and use them with playdough, counters, or even stickers. Matching the number to its ten frame helps children build a strong number sense foundation.

Flashcards of Numbers 1-10

If you’re looking for a quick and simple way to practice number recognition, the Flashcards of Numbers 1-10 are the way to go.

I often use them for quick reviews before we move on to our main lesson. For example, I’ll flash a card and the kids will have to jump, clap, or stomp the number of times shown. It’s a fantastic way to mix movement with learning, especially for active preschoolers.

Having multiple sets printed and laminated also means you can send some home with students for extra practice.

Numbers Flashcards 1-20

Once students are confident with numbers 1-10, it’s time to stretch a little more. The Numbers Flashcards 1-20 help bridge the gap between beginner and more advanced number work.

I usually introduce these cards after the New Year when I notice my preschoolers are ready for more of a challenge. We practice counting to 20 during transition times—lining up, cleaning up, or even washing hands. It’s amazing how much repetition helps!

These flashcards also work well for simple ordering activities, like arranging numbers on a table or hanging them on a clothesline with clothespins.

Numbers Play Dough Mats

Lastly, if your students love sensory activities (and who doesn’t?), Numbers Play Dough Mats are a must-have.

In my classroom, we use play dough mats every week. The kids roll out dough “snakes” and form the numbers on their mats. It’s a great way to strengthen fine motor skills while reinforcing number formation.

Sometimes, I combine these mats with flashcards: show a number, and then have the children form it with play dough. This cross-activity connection keeps learning fun and fresh.
