Letter V Art Activities

Going on a trip is a super fun and educational activity for children. My students always get excited at the thought of going on a field trip. And as a teacher, I feel giddy, too!

Importance of Field Trips

1. Children learn best when they experience what they are learning firsthand.

Milking a cow at a farm is so much better compared to watching a video about it.

Picking strawberries and eating them always trumps flashcards.

Children retain information better and faster when all their senses are activated and when they experience it in its natural form.

2. Children get to practice and improve their social skills

Going to different places and interacting with people is the best way for children to work on their social skills.

They get to develop values such as respect, empathy and gratitude as they interact with people from all walks of life.

3. Children get a sense of mystery and excitement

It’s good to keep children excited about learning. And sometimes being in the classroom for too long can be monotonous (even if you have a thousand toys and games prepared).

A change of pace and environment is always welcome- for both students and teachers (because adults get bored, too.)
