Master the uppercase letter U through this preschool art- U is for Umbrella Art and Craft Activity!
There are a lot of sickness that we could get out there if we’re not on top of our health. And if you read health articles, you’ll see that they mostly advocate the following:
- Eat a balanced diet
- Exercise regularly
- Get enough sleep
- Take vitamins and minerals
- Minimize stress
Children especially are prone to getting sick. But in as much as we want to protect them from getting sick, it’s also important that they don’t miss out on fun and educational experiences.
Like in the case of playing in the rain!
I have a lot of fond childhood memories involving rain. And I want my students to have the such memories, too.
So with careful planning, I arranged a “rain play” for my students.
I started with the timing. And it’s just lucky that the rainy season is quite predictable where we’re at.
Next, I sent out letters to parents regarding the activity. Permission was asked to make sure that they allow their kids to play in the rain.
List of things to bring were also included so the students come prepared.
And of course, parents were also invited to join in the fun!
The event turned out well. A lot of parents came. And the children had fun playing with their rain coats and boots on. Of course, umbrellas were also present.
The next day (luckily no one got sick), we worked on an umbrella-themed art.
This alphabet craft targets the following learning objectives:
- Master the letter U through a visual cue (image of an umbrella) and an auditory cue (beginning sound of the word umbrella)
- Develop fine motor skills

How can I print the U is for upside down Umbrella craft? I’ve tried everything. I will even pay you for it.
Hello! Thank you for leaving us a message. If you mean the craft itself, I’m afraid that’s not included in the post. I just traced the outlines on my own to make the craft. As for the free umbrella coloring page, just click on the pink button at the bottom of the post and it should be downloaded automatically. I hope this helps. Thank you and have a great day. Happy learning!
