Watermelon Seeds Counting Worksheets

Watermelon Seed Counting Worksheets from The Teaching Aunt

Have fun learning about numbers through these summer-themed free printable- Watermelon Seeds Counting Worksheets!

The heat is on where I’m at. And my students are busy doing outdoor activities one after another.

And if you ask them what fruit they love the best to keep them refreshed, they will all scream WATERMELON!

That’s why I’ve decided to make watermelon-themed worksheets to match the season and to motivate the students.

Counting activities if done rottenly is really boring. At least for me.

Like any other activity, learning about numbers should be done in a fun and practical way.

Fun because it makes learning lighter and eases off the pressure on students.

On the other hand, practical because we want the students to see how they can use the skill in their daily lives. Plus the students will be more inclined to exert effort if they see the applicability of the skill they are learning.

Just like adults, children also gauge what’s in it for them to learn a certain topic.

How To Use Watermelon Seeds Counting Worksheets:

  1. Eat a watermelon with your students. (Obviously this is optional but it’s delicious so why not give it a go?)
  2. Print the preschool counting worksheets on an A4-sized paper and laminate.
  3. If you’re using blank worksheets, tell your child the number and have him put the correct number of “seed” counters on the watermelon picture.
  4. Or if you’re using the math worksheets with pre-determined numbers, you can instruct your students to identify the numbers written on the paper and put the correct number of “seeds” counters on the watermelon. This set is best for independent work so you can work on other things while your students are busy.

That’s it! If you have other suggestions on how to use the summer-themed worksheets, please let me know!
