Identifying colors and patterns are both fundamental skills in preschool. And both are equally fun and easy to teach.

Why Study Colors?

Recognising colors helps children identify and organise visual information. It helps them create cognitive link between visual cues. Very much like in the case of shapes.

Normally, our primary way of describing things around us are through colors and shapes. Thus, it is important to learn these two early on to aid children in making associations and comparisons.

Why Study Patterns?

Patterns are arrangement of things based on different attributes such as colors, shapes, sizes, images, gestures, sounds and numbers. It can be found in all areas of life.

Recognising patterns helps children make predictions as to what comes next and develop reasoning skills.

Since colors and patterns are equally important skills to have in preschool, it is then just natural work on these together in one worksheet set.

And that is what I’m addressing in this post.  These free preschool worksheets set is in PDF format so it’s easy to download and print.

In addition, the pictures include basic shapes and fun clip arts. So you can just choose which one you fancy.
