Get ready to master the letter R through this fun preschool art- R is for Rabbit Art and Craft Activity!

We have pet rabbits at school. And my students enjoy playing with them.
Some of my students go inside the hutch and feed the rabbits up close. While some just stay outside and watch the rabbits at a distance.
To teach the students about taking responsibility, we assign students to bring food for the rabbits.
And my students take this task seriously. Thankfully, the rabbits never missed a meal because our students are responsible pet owners. Plus they really care about the cute bunnies.
One time, I heard two of my students talking, one of them said, “Remember to bring vegetables tomorrow for Fluffy.”
It’s so nice to hear such things from students. They don’t need to be reminded by the teachers anymore because they remember on their own.
In connection with rabbits, I decided to come up with an alphabet craft. This builds on my students love for rabbits.
This preschool craft targets the following learning objectives:
- Master the letter R through a visual cue (image of a rabbit) and an auditory cue (beginning sound for the word rabbit)
- Develop fine motor skills
- Encourage creativity and imagination
