Have a happy time learning the letter H through this preschool activity- H is for House Art and Craft Activity!

H is for House Art and Craft

One of the first few things that my preschoolers can draw well is a house. It’s understandable because it consists of just a couple of solid shapes- triangle, square and rectangle.

To level up their skills, we make there similar fine motor activities in the classroom related to house.

In this art activity, students are tasked to make a house craft which involves a more advanced skill- cutting.

This alphabet art is ideal for children who are working on developing their fine motor skills- particularly their scissor skills. Each part of this letter craft is made up of straight lines so it will be relatively easy for children’s developing hand and wrist muscles.

In addition, this activity is also recommended for the following reasons:

  • master the letter H through a visual cue (image of a house) and an auditory cue (beginning sound of the word house)
  • Foster creativity and imagination
  • Practice following directions
