In the morning, as my students arrive at school, they make a choice: play outside or work on different stations in the classroom. One of the work stations is the writing corner.

The Writing Corner is… well, for writing. The students may do freehand writing, meaning they write whatever they want to write. They can practice writing their names, invent words or simply put paper to pencil- being legible is not the goal. 🙂

Or they may choose to work on tracing worksheets such as these LOWERCASE LETTERS TRACING WORKSHEETS that I’m sharing with you for free!

My students love working on these tracing worksheets. First, because it’s easy to do. Second, they enjoy getting stamps and/or stickers as rewards from me.

For these worksheets, I decided to just make it a half-sheet. This way, the students wouldn’t feel like it’s work because it’s just short. It’s something that they can work on quickly and then switch to another activity.

I highly recommend having work stations/ learning centres in the classroom. These help students practice making decisions and keep them productive. Of course having fun yet educational activities like these LOWERCASE LETTERS TRACING WORKSHEETS is a plus!

Do you have work stations or learning centers in your classroom or at home? Which center is the most popular?
