Feel wonderful and learn the letter F through this fantastic preschool activity- F is for Flower Art and Craft Activity!

We are blessed to have a beautiful garden in our school. And it’s a double blessing for me because we also have a beautiful garden at home.
I don’t have a green thumb. I can’t grow a plant (on my own) even if my life depends on it. And I’m okay with that fact. I’ve long accepted that I don’t have it all. 🙂
However, my lack of gardening skills doesn’t stop me from admiring appreciating nature, plants and flowers.
In fact, I love them even more because of it.
With my understanding that tending a garden takes skills, I’m more careful when handling plants and flowers. Thus, I teach my preschoolers the same thing.
Every time we visit our school garden, I remind my students to be careful with the plants and flowers. I tell them not to pick the flowers even if they find it really beautiful.
Instead, I encourage them to take a mental picture of the flowers (something that I got from F.R.I.E.N.D.S.) This way the flowers get to live for as long as it can until it’s time for it to wither.
So far, I haven’t had any problem with my students following this simple garden rule. And I am happy.
In that simple rule, my students get to practice love and respect to Mother Nature.
And since we can’t pick the beautiful flowers, we work on flower-themed art and craft instead.
My preschoolers find it equally appealing because they can it bring it home, plus it doesn’t wither!
