It’s pumpkin season again! Here is a pumpkin/ Halloween-themed art and craft for children- Jack O’ Lantern Art and Craft!
Aside from eating pumpkin pie, I also enjoy pumpkin art. But since my little ones can’t do pumpkin carving just yet, we’ll settle for this simple and cute paper plate craft.
This is a perfect art activity for my little ones because they get to develop their creativity and fine motor skills. Plus, the finished art is a great classroom decor!
I don’t need to buy pre-made decors anymore, I just hang my students’ art work and we’re set for the Halloween!
Moreover, this paper plate art targets the following learning objectives:
- Recognise colors
- Develop fine motor skills
- Encourage creativity
- Follow directions
Jack O’ Lantern Art and Craft Activity
Materials:
- Paper plate
- Orange poster paint
- Paint brush or sponge
- Coloured paper
- Fuzzy wire
- Scissors
- Glue
Directions:
- Paint the whole paper plate orange. You may use paint brush or sponge depending on your child’s abilities.
- Prepare cut-outs for the Jack O’ Lantern’s head- eyes, mouth.
- Once the paint is dry, paste the cut-out parts accordingly.
- Attach the green fuzzy wire on top of the Jack O’ Lantern’s head.
